AN 18.6-in. AUXILIARY TELESCOPE SYSTEM FOR OPTICAL AQUISITION AND TRACKING OF SPACE OBJECTS,

Abstract

The report describes the on-site development, installation, and testing at Mount Haleakala Observatory of an experimental image orthicon, acquisition and tracking optical system composed of an 18.6-in. diameter, parabolic mirror combined with a 2-stage relay system. Also described is a related 10-in. diameter, single-mode telescope system which preceded the 18.6 system. (Author)
