METHOD OF OBTAINING AN ADDITIVE FOR LUBRICATING OILS,

Abstract

The method of obtaining an additive to lubricating oils, consisting of treating boron trifluoride with alkylphenol and alkylamine, is known. In this case, (aminotrifluoralkyl)phenoxyborate is obtained which may be used as an antiwear additive for lubricating oils. The proposed method differs from the known in that the antiwar additive - (aminotrifluoralkyl)phenoxyborate - is treated with alkenylsuccinic anhydride with heating to 150C. This difference allows the improvement of the quality of the additive, for example, besides the antiwear properties, the given additive acquires detergent properties. (Author)
