METHOD OF OBTAINING FLUORINE-CONTAINING CELLULOSE DERIVATIVES,

Abstract

Non-combustible materials based on fluorinated pulp are produced by reacting the pulp with sulfur tetrafluoride, in the presence of sodium chloride as an acceptor for the hydrogen fluoride evolved during the reaction. The fluorine content of such a polymer was 32 percent corresponding to degree of fluorine substitution of the hydroxyl groups of 90 percent. (Author)
