ON A STOCHASTIC MODEL FOR CONVERSION.

Abstract

Two simple stochastic models are considered which describe the increase of converts in a population when an initial number of converts are introduced into the population, and converts attempts to convert others; only 'successful' converts can convert others. The emphasis is on how the probability of conversion increases with the number of attempted conversions and the initial number of converts. A numerical illustration is given. (Author)
