DIGITAL PROCESSING OF DEPTH-TEMPERATURE-SALINITY DATA,

Abstract

A procedure is described which eliminates some random and systematic errors from the output of a digital depth-temperature-salinity recorder (DTS) and transforms the corrected data into a standard form, providing temperature and salinity values at 2-m depth intervals from the sea surface to the maximal depth of the station. To demonstrate the effect of the procedure, plots of DTS data are presented in processed, partly processed, and unprocessed form for purposes of comparison. Details of card formats are included.
