HUMAN MONITORING PERFORMANCE.

Abstract

The two general purposes of the research were: to increase knowledge of the relations of psychological and physiological variables to human monitoring performance, with the aim that such an increase would have practical implications for the many situations in Naval operations that require operators to remain alert over extended vigils; and to investigate display design variables and concepts that might enhance human monitoring performance.
