ENGINEERING DESIGN AND TEST OF PACKAGING SYSTEMS FOR THE 2171 GYROSCOPE PLATFORM,

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to evaluate the shock and vibration protection provided by a contractor designed packaging system for the 2171 Gyroscope Platform and, if required, to determine and recommend design changes for improved package protection. A deficienty was discovered in the contractor's pack design which developed under certain conditions of handling. The deficiency was identified as a possible cause for the high damage rates and a method was recommended for correcting the deficiency. (Author)
