EVALUATION OF TOWER ANTENNA-PEDESTAL FOR MOBILE WEATHER RADAR AN/TPS-41.

Abstract

The report covers a discussion of the operational acceptance tests, their results, and the performance details of an advanced engineering model of a tower antenna-pedestal. The Tower Antenna-Pedestal (TAP), when used with the Mobile Weather Radar AN/TPS-41 constitutes a lightweight, portable, easily transportable, weather surveillance radar system. The tower-mounted antenna reduces ground clutter, thereby improving the overall weather surveillance capability and thus providing greater flexibility in the selection of operating sites. (Author)
