AIR HYDROCLONE FOR DENTAL SERVICE.

Abstract

Phase I was a feasibility study and Phase II was a development program which resulted in the fabrication of ten prototype separators. The initial activities of Phase I were devoted to evaluation of hydroclone separators which were previously designed for other applications. From the results of these evaluations and preliminary calculations, a variable parameter hydroclone device was adapted for parametric analysis. By conducting the parametric analysis on the variable parameter hydroclone in the actual system, the parameter values to satisfy the objectives of the contract were established. From the results of Phase I, a hydroclone separator was specified with near optimum separation characteristics. This specified hydroclone separator was utilized during Phase II to develop and fabricate ten prototype hydroclone separators. (Author)
