Abstract

The report is a translation of the second of three appendices by Yu. K. Belayev to the Russian edition of the book Stationary and related stochastic processes by Harald Cramer and M. R. Leadbetter. The contents concern the general theory of point processes with special emphasis on methods useful in dealing with 'crossing problems' for stochastic processes. (Author)
