SINGLE AND MULTISLOT ANTENNAS IN AN INHOMOGENEOUS REENTRY PLASMA ENVIRONMENT.

Abstract

A short, linear, slot array radiating through an inhomogeneous reentry boundary-layer plasma in analyzed for free, standing-wave-feed, and traveling-wave-feed aperture excitations. Calculations are presented for self- and mutual-admittance, aperture voltages, element pattern, and the resulting antenna gain for free space and typical low-altitude reentry plasma conditions for a sharp, slender, conical vehicle.
