AUDIOMETER ATTENUATOR CALIBRATION METHOD.

Abstract

The implementation of standards for audiometers--together with a general upgrading of those for audiometer calibration--requires calibration checks of the steps of the audiometer hearing-level attenuator. The aim of the study was to determine the feasibility of using transformer and common base preamplifier impedance-matching, in conjunction with laboratory voltmeters or sound-level meters, to detect the very-low-level electrical signals from the audiometer. Additional applications of this device are suggested. (Author)
