INTERNATIONAL DATA ARCHIVE AND ANALYSIS CENTER. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS ARCHIVE. VOLUNTARY INTERNATIONAL COORDINATION

Abstract

The International Relations Archive undertakes as its primary goals the acquisition, management and dissemination of international affairs data. These goals necessitate direct interaction between its staff and the academic community to ensure more adequate standards, predominantly in the areas of data formatting, definitions and coding of variables, and validity checking of data. This working relationship assists in data collection, data analysis, and software development. The voluntary international coordination (VIC) project has undertaken work in the organization and support of conferences related to quantitative international affairs research, and the encouragement and support of promising data generation projects.
