APPLICATION OF FUELS AND LUBRICATING MATERIALS,

Abstract

The book is a student aid for advanced petroleum educational institutions. In it are problems related to the application of fuels and lubricating materials in wheeled and tracked vehicles and in aircraft. The basic theme is the physical chemistry properties of fuels and lubricating materials, and their effect on the operation of engines, transmissions and undercarriage of machines is shown. The bases for the application of the fuel in engines with spark ignition, with ignition from compression, in jet and liquid-jet engines are given. Also, the bases for the application of oils, greases, liquid coolants and liquids for hydraulic drives, are examined. The training aid is designed for students of petroleum in higher educational institutions, mainly in nontechnological fields. It can also be used by students in other special higher educational institutions. The introduction and divisions, devoted to the physical chemistry properties of fuels, oils, greases, coolants and hydraulic liquids, were written by N. N. Bobrov. The divisions, in which the problems of the theory and design of engines and machines are examined, were written by P. I. Voropay. (Author)
