THEORETICAL STUDY OF NONTHERMAL PHENOMENA OF ASTROPHYSICS.

Abstract

The research program has been concerned with nonthermal phenomena exhibited by extragalactic objects. Particular attention has been given to quasars and to active galaxies such as Seyfert galaxies and radio galaxies. It has become clear, in rect years, that there is a close similarity between quasars and the nuclei of active galaxies. For this reason, special attention has been given to galactic nuclei. Study of quasars is closely linked with study of the intergalactic medium and of cosmology. (Author)
