STUDIES OF STRATIFIED FLOWS, ROTATING FLUIDS, AND FLUID-MECHANICS PROBLEMS RELATED TO GEOPHYSICAL PHENOMENA.

Abstract

The general objectives of the project are to deepen the understanding of the mechanics of a stratified and of a rotating fluid, to broaden the knowledge in that field, and to apply the results to the explanation of geophysical phenomena which occur in the atmosphere, in the oceans, and in the rivers, or to the solving of engineering problems. A review is provided of research accomplishments, doctoral dissertations completed, and publications of the chief investigator. (Author)
