LARGE SCALE MOTION OF A TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER WITH A ZERO AND A FAVORABLE PRESSURE GRADIENT.

Abstract

The outer intermittent region of a fully developed turbulent boundary layer with a zero and a strongly favorable pressure gradient was extensively investigated in order to clarify the complex interplay between the strongly retarded inner turbulent fluid and the outer irrotational fluid. The investigation also shed light on the role of the large eddy structure which appears to dominate the outer region. (Author)
