CORRELATION OF AMPLITUDE AND PHASE SPATIAL FLUCTUATIONS OF WAVE DIFFRACTED ON ROUGH SCREEN (Korrelyatsiya Prostranstvennykh Fluktuatsii Amplitudy i Fazy Volny, Difragirovannoi na Nerovnom Ekrane),

Abstract

Autocorrelation of fluctuations, as well as the mutual amplitude and phase correlation in a diffracted wave, are examined. The problem is solved in approximation of the small perturbations method for all values of the wave parameter. It is shown that correlation in the Fraunhofer and ray approximation zones does not depend on the mean height of the screen, and increases as the distance between the receivers and the screen increases. Amplitude and phase correlation at the Point of reception diminishes and vanishes in the Fraunhofer zone with increasing distance between the receiving point and the screen. In the range of intermediate values of the wave parameter, correlation is determined by the ratio between the mean scale of irregularities and the radius of the Frennel zone in the region of the screen and depends on the mean height of the screen.
