MONTE CARLO COMPUTATION OF VOLUME EFFECTS IN MACROMOLECULES FOR CHAINS IN A CUBIC LATTICE (Raschet Obemnykh Effektov v Makromolekulakh Metodom Monte-Karlo dlya Tsepei na Kubicheskoi Resketke),

Abstract

A method is proposed for the comparative evaluation of the flexibility and excluded volume parameters in chains of different types from data on the dependence of (h sq) on the number of links in a chain. The method is not dependent on any specific theory of volume effects and is based solely on the assumption of a universal dependence of alpha on Z. The parameters determined by this method agree with direct computations, thereby confirming the existence of such a universal dependence. (Author)
