COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF COMMON AND SPECIAL GRADE AUTOVON TRUNKS, PHASE 1.

Abstract

A quantitative evaluation of Special Grade and Common Grade AUTOVON Trunks was conducted using the RADC Digital Communications Experimental Facility (DICEF). The results provide factual data on the performance of these circuits and conclude that Common Grade AUTOVON Trunks with fixed compromise equalization are comparable in performance to the Special Grade Trunks. Digital Tests were performed at a data rate of 2400 bits per second. Analog Tests of amplitude and relative delay vs frequency, signal to noise ratio, frequency translation and phase jitter were also performed. (Author)
