THE MAGNETOSTRICTION OF MAGNETIC COMPOSITE MATERIALS.

Abstract

A simple theory for the magnetostriction of laminate and particulate magnet composites is presented and the magnetic, mechanical and magnetomechanical complications of such materials are discussed. The results of experiments on several particulate composites based on cobalt ferrite with silver, copper and nickel matrices are presented and compared with their theoretical expectations. (Author)
