UNION CARBIDE 12-VOLT SWITCHING DEVICE.
Abstract
A 12-volt DC switching device was developed for use in switching the load to a standby power unit upon failure of the working unit. This report covers tests performed on a sample of these devices. These tests include measurements of current drains imposed by the device, determination of the voltage differential between standby and working power units for switching to occur, determination of whether the switching is complete or if there is load sharing, the effects of shorting various leads, and some brief dynamic load tests.
