LUMINOSITY FROM MULTI-TON TNT EXPLOSIONS,

Abstract

The luminosity-time history of a multi-ton TNT-block explosion contains several maxima and minima. We find that the times of appearance of these are controlled by the airshock and can be scaled from one multi-ton explosion of weight Y to another by Y to the 1/3. The magnitudes, however, cannot be scaled. The spectral composition of the luminosity changes with time. Radiating species in the blue such as CN, CH, NH, O2(-) Herzberg can be identified. The strongly radiating species in the red have not been identified. (Author)
