DEVELOPMENT OF EQUATIONS FOR SIMULATING ASSAULT BOAT MOTION.

Abstract

An analysis of experimental model data is applied to determine numerical values of parameters entering a six degree of freedom mathematical model of assault boat motion along a sloping beach with waves. Particular computations are carried out to assess the degree of agreement between theory and experiment; to determine proper values of some parameters in the equations; and to validate the use of the equations as a means of adequately simulating assault boat motion in real time. The results of this investigation support the use of the developed mathematical model for a real time simulator for training purposes. (Author)
