DIGITAL COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR APPROXIMATE STRESS-CONCENTRATION ANALYSIS FOR A CYLINDRICAL BRANCH PIPE CONNECTION,

Abstract

A computer program is presented which gives the total stress concentration factor caused by a branch pipe connection to a main pipe under internal pressure. The solution on which the program is based is obtained by an approximate method in which only bulk equilibrium and deformation requirements are maintained. The results are compared with available test data. The computer program is written for a General Electric 605 Time Sharing Computer. A complete listing of the program, including full documentation, is presented. In addition, a typical computer run is included. (Author)
