OIL FOR LOCOMOTIVE DIESELS,

Abstract

Contemporary requirements on reliability and engine life involve systematic control of quality of the production of diesel oils with additives based on additional GOST and MRTU criteria of the performance properties as well as stability of motor oils and additives. Manufacture of motor oils with novel composite additives for high-compression locomotive diesel engines (11D-45 and 10D100 types) should be rapidly established; additives possessing high detergent, dispersing, and antioxidant properties are preferred. Some recent problems of the choice of oils and additives were discussed.
