A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE INCIDENCE OF BLOOD DONOR 'REACTORS' IN SMOKERS AND NONSMOKERS.

Abstract

It was established that a significant statistical difference exists between the blood donor reaction rate of smokers in comparison to nonsmokers; smokers being less susceptible than nonsmokers. No significant difference in relation to reaction rate was found among the smoking group when considering consumption rate of cigarettes, history of smoking in years, and the time span between last smoking and phlebotomy.
