DECISION ANALYSES USING PRESENT VALUE TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

The document contains three separate papers entitled: 'Criteria for Timing Replacement of Weapons Systems', 'An Analysis to Select the Best Investment from Alternative Aircraft Systems', 'A Risk Analysis Technique Using Present Value Theory'. The difficult task of assigning a value to the performance of a military mission is undertaken, and the costs of the means of achieving that mission assessed against it to provide a measure of net benefit. The payoff is then discounted to provide the present value of a system, an action, or alternative methods of accomplishing the mission. Two examples are worked out. (Author)
