THE SOLUTION OF NONLINEAR PROBLEMS OF THE PLATE AND SHELL THEORY BY THE METHOD OF SMALL-STEP LOADING,

Abstract

With the described method the static loading of a nonlinear system is realized in small loading steps. Each new step is applied to the structure deformed by preceding loading steps, thus reducing the solution of nonlinear equations to that of linear equations. This method is known as 'the method of successive loadings' or 'the step method'. The solution (in general form) of the problem of the axisymmetric flexure of a circular plate with an initial manufacturing inaccuracy is presented as an illustration. (Author)
