COSMIC-RAY MODULATION DURING FORBUSH DECREASES IN 1968-1969,

Abstract

For several Forbush decreases in 1968-69 analyses have been made of the counting rate variations of neutron monitors at different vertical cutoff rigidities, of the different neutron multiplicities recorded by the Mt. Washington and Durham monitors, and of the cosmic ray telescope on Pioneer 8. Comparisons of the Forbush decrease changes with those for the 11-year variation indicate that the Forbush decreases are less rigidity dependent. From these data a possible form for the rigidity modulation is obtained. (Author)
