A STUDY OF DATA INPUT PROBLEMS WITHIN THE ARMY PERSONNEL INFORMATION SYSTEM,

Abstract

The document investigates data input problems within the Army's personnel information system. In connection with this, an analysis of the United States Marine Corps manpower management system has been made. Based upon the research findings, it is evident that the proper utilization of source data automation is of extreme importance in support of the total manpower management area of the Army personnel information system. This is especially true if the basic philosophies and concepts which underie the automatic techniques being applied by Department of the Army are to be adhered to. (Author)
