MECHANICAL DISPERSION OF A MACHINE GUN SYSTEM WITH STOCHASTIC EXCITATIONS,

Abstract

It is shown that the mechanical dispersion of a conceptual machine gun system under steady firing with some uncertainty in the excitations can be determined by a stochastic dynamic analysis. The acquisition of th mechanical dispersion by the approach presented may provide a rational point of departure for a subsequent study in the system effectiveness involving exterior ballistics and terminal effects.
