Analytical Procedures for Predicting the Mechanical Properties of Fiber Reinforced Composites. Part V.

Abstract

An integral equation formulation of the equations of linear elasticity is used to examine the interfacial stress and displacement components for a single fiber in an infinite matrix and for an infinite array of fibers. The composite is under uniaxial tension. A theory for calculating composite elastic modulis also deve-loped. The fibers are of finite length with results restricted to aspect ratio 1. (Author-PL)
