Abstract

The paper is concerned with the technical and tactical proficiency required of the Infantry rifle squad leader to detect, locate, identify, and designate hostile targets suitable for engagement weapons; the collection, evaluation, interpretation and dissemination to his own men, and reporting to higher units of all available military information pertinent to the enemy, weather, terrain, and indigenous population as these elements are likely to affect military operations or pacification programs; and the supervision of squad members.
