MECHANICAL TIME FUZE (Mekhanicheskaya Distantsi Onnaya),

Abstract

The mechanical time fuze with a Krupp system regulator used for artillery shells is equipped with a spiral spring which winds up at firing. It differs by its use of a notched shaft as the setting ring emplaced on the main shaft and set to the required angle with respect to the regulator pinion. This device, after the pinon has been rotated to the required angle and is uncoupled from the regulator, is used to release the spring-powered striker being held in place by the shaft. (Author)
