The paper covers the performances, knowledges, and skills required of the Infantry rifle squad leader to plan, direct, and supervise the construction of individual hasty emplacements, open and covered foxholes, emplacements for attached crew-served weapons, fighting trenches, hasty shelters, barbed wire entanglements and other passive obstacles; and the clearing of fields of fire.
