Ten Micron Wideband Detector

Abstract

The report, a summary of results obtained during the first six months of the program, is organized in the following manner: Section 2 describes the properties of proustite applicable to frequency conversion techniques and summarizes the results of a theoretical investigation of parametric upconversion of CO2 radiation to the near infrared. Section 3 describes CO2 and Nd:YAG experimental mixing efforts. Section 4 details a theoretical investigation of thermal imaging including a discussion of expected upconverted power and resolution.
