The Consequences of the Study of Federal Student Loan Programs. A Case Study in the Utilization of Social Research.

Abstract

The purpose of the report is to describe one case of the utilization of a social research study in decision-making. The 'Study of Federal Student Loan Programs,' conducted by the College Entrance Examination Board with the assistance of the Bureau of Applied Social Research of Columbia University, was undertaken to assist in the resolution of issues in the loan field. The report presents the history of the study from its inception through the utilization of its findings and recommendations. (Author)
