The Vertical Distribution of Strontium-90 and Cesium-137 in the Western North Pacific Ocean,

Abstract

The waters of the Kuroshio were sampled for radioactivity as a function of depth. The concentration of Sr-90, total Cs-137, and ionic Cs-137 was determined to 1000 meters. No evidence of ionic Cs-137 (0 plus or minus 0.2 dpm/100 liters) was found in the deep waters. Earlier work of the author in the Central and Eastern North Pacific Ocean showed similar results.
