Effect of DC Polarographic Maxima on AC Waves.

Abstract

The presence of a maximum on the d.c. polarographic curve does not preclude the possibility of a.c. studies of kinetics and mechanisms or of analytical determinations by a.c. polarography in absence of maximum suppressors. A necessary condition is that 3-electrode circuitry with potentiostatic control of the working electrode be used. The a.c. process is affected much less (if at all) than is the d.c. by the streaming that accompanies maximum formation. (Author)
