Trend Analysis Study of China in Its Relations with the Major Powers and Selected Medium Powers from 1922 Until 1968.

Abstract

A report is made on the second year of a three-year quantitative study of mainland China in its relations with the major powers and selected medium powers from 1922 until 1968. The modes of analysis include data on such factors as (population, production, trade, military budgets, men-under-arms, and territorial expansion) and interaction data scaled in terms of implications of violence. The data were scheduled to be gathered at annual intervals and the analyses were to be done in time series. The findings reported are considered preliminary, since a large amount of cross-checking and amplification remains to be done. (Author)
