On Some Questionable Arguments About Quantifiers and Negation,

Abstract

Arguments are presented for the hypothesis that quantifiers such as 'all' and 'each' do not originate in the noun phrases in which they occur on the surface, but rather that they are represented in deep structure as main verbs of higher sentences. (Author)
