Suitability Flight Test of the Kaiser FP-50A Display Unit in the AH-1G(COBRA) Helicopter.

Abstract

The Kaiser FP-50A display unit is modified to provide tactical information to the pilot. Inputs are received from the gunner's sight to present steering information for the pilot to maneuver the aircraft into position to fire rockets at a target being tracked by the gunner. The report presents work performed to support the SEA NITEOPS Program. Human factors engineering guidance is provided to the program by the Human Engineering Laboratories. This phase of the program involved making a human factors evaluation of the Kaiser FP-50A flight display integrated with the AH-1G (COBRA) weapon system (XM-28). (Author)
