Lion and Man: A Bounded Pursuit Game.
Abstract
A lion L and a man M move in a circular arena, the lion with speed 1 and the man with speed omega > or = 1. How close can the lion get to the man. Here the author formulates the problem as a differential game, shows that the game has a value, and constructs upper and lower bounds for the latter and an optimal strategy for the man. (Author)
