A Modified Method of Steep Descent for Parameter Identification.

Abstract

The paper presents an extension of the output error method of parameter identification to four and five parameter third order systems using a modified method of steep descent with a time invariant error surface. A three step adjustment algorithm is developed. This algorithm requires the use of results from a partial frequency response (at least two frequencies) and the steady state response to a step input. Results are presented for both four and five parameter systems. (Author)
