'Noise-Proofed' Sound-Powered Phones.

Abstract

Several sound-powered telephones were evaluated for speech intelligibility and operator acceptability, as a phase of the development of the NEL Flight Deck Communications System. With certain reservations, the GIC, SD, and shielded SC models are considered satisfactory. Recommendations are made for improving the design of these equipments and for providing optimum listening and talking situations. (Author)
