Decomposition of Stabilized Polyoxymethylene under Elevated Pressure.

Abstract

Polyoxymethylene, endgroup protected and copolymerized, was annealed at different temperatures under 5 kb pressure. Enhanced decomposition was found at elevated pressure. Annealing to an improved crystal structure was possible only at atmospheric pressure above 170C. The thermodynamics nd products of decomposition are discussed. (Author)
