Thermal Exchange Between Water Currents and Atmosphere in Winter,

Abstract

The investigations as well as the comparison of the calculation and observation data on the position of the ice edge at the lower water level of the Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Power Plant justify the recommendation of the formulas developed by S. N. Kritsky, M. F. Menkel', K. I. Rossinskiy and P. P. Kuz'min to determine the heat losses from the surface of a water current due to evaporation and convection in wintertime. (Author)
