Joint Adjustment of Gravimetric and Satellite Data in the Determination of the Earth's Gravitational Field (Sovmestnoe Uravnivanie Gravimetriches kikh i Sputnikovykh Dannykh pri Opredelenii Gravitatsionnogo Polya Zemli),

Abstract

Methods of joint reduction of gravimetric and satellite tracking data are discussed. They are destined to determine the coefficients C bar sub nk and S bar sub nk in the expansion of the earth's potential in spherical functions. The coefficients C bar sub nk and S bar sub nk determined from satellite tracking data and the gravity anomalies according to Faye adjusted in a constant radius, are taken as 'measured values'. To eliminate the influence of high-order harmonics it is recommended to use very smoothed anomalies and while solving the equations of errors to compute the anomaly differences, corresponding to gravimetric and satellite data, from the dofferences of the coefficients in their spherical function expansion. It is suggested to use the obtained data for determining the weights both of the gravity anomalies and of the harmonic coefficients obtained from satellite tracking data. (Author)
