The Effects of Physical and Symbolic Stressors on Perceptual Mechanisms.
Abstract
The research has had two major activities, (1) An attempt to develop a bridge between basic theory and application over the huge empirical knowledge gap between task and environmental variables on the one hand, and performance measures on the other, and (2) The conduct of experimental studies of relevance to the postulates of the stress theory. A third conceptual activity was added which concerned the question of what tasks should be used in conjunction with environmental simulation studies. (Author)
